National Day of Action to get Real Food in Schools
 Featuring Edible Arts & Crafts!
September 7th, 2009

The Time for Lunch Campaign is a project of Slow Food USA, an educational non-profit with the goal of creating a world in which everyone can enjoy food that is good, clean and fair. On Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009, people in communities all over the country will sit down to share a meal with their neighbors and kids. This National Eat-In will send a clear message to Congress: It's time to provide America's children with real food at school.

Come on down and bring the kids to the Slow Food celebration at Heritage Prairie Market this Labor Day from 11 – 2! Attend celebrity crafter Marisa Pawelko’s live demonstrations of Modern Surrealist edible arts and crafts! Inspire a love of healthy foods by learning how to make easy and delicious projects you can do at home! The creative juices will certainly flow as we create edible jewelry, toys and decorations with gifts from mother earth’s garden!
